From a very
early age Terry followed his father around construction sites and
developed a love for the industry and its operations. Upon graduating
with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Laurentian University
in 1973 he began working for his father's company. Mike Rainone
Trucking was a small trucking operation supplying sand, gravel and
aggregates to many of Sault Ste. Marie's homebuilders and commercial
construction sites. Under Terry's guidance the firm grew and in
1980 amalgamated with a sewer and water company to form what is
now Rainone Construction Group Limited. It continued on a
|
|
growth pattern
throughout the 1980's adding gravel pits, asphalt paving and steel
fabrication to its operations. Terry sold the firm in October 1994.
In November 1995 Kember Construction Inc. was incorporated as a
General Building Contractor and in December 1995 Palmer Paving &
Construction Ltd. was purchased in partnership with General Manager
Brian Siddall.
Terry Rainone
received his Master of Business Administration degree from Lake
Superior State University in May 1992. Active in the community he
has served as President of the Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce,
Vice-Chairman of the Sault Ste. Marie General Hospital, Chairman
of Finance of the Sault Ste. Marie General Hospital and Chairman
of the Planning Committee of the Sault Ste. Marie General Hospital.
He also served as Secretary of the Sault Ste. Marie Homebuilders'
Association and was a Graduate Assistant for Dale Carnegie Training.
Presently Chair of the Community Development Association of Sault
Ste. Marie & Area Terry served as Executive Director for the
organization from October 1995 until April 1996. During that period
he facilitated the amalgamation of two organizations and developed
a new board and by-laws for the non-profit corporation.
Terry has continued to upgrade his skills over the years taking
courses in Construction Law, AutoCAD and several other computer
training courses.
